Talk-PC is the "Evenings and Weekend" hobby of
Mike Read, a Microsoft Certified (MCSD.NET) ICT Consultant currently working
for
MASS Consultants
on a
long term project for the UK MoD.
I am passionate about technology and have chosen to focus in the Microsoft
Technology Arena. At the end of 2005 I achieved the highest certification
available from Microsoft for Software Developers, the Microsoft Certified
Solutions Developer. This required the passing of 5 specialist exams and allows
me to be to utilise the following logos on any material/resume/website printed
materials to advertise my skills.
To validate the certification credentials, Microsoft set up a secure site for
viewing of the certification transcripts (Dates, Times, Exams passed etc). This
capability ensures that people are not fabricating the certifications by

I began my working career in 1988 for British Aerospace writing software for
their CADCAM system used to develop the wings for the Airbus fleet of aircraft.
After a few small stints at Admiral Software and then Vodafone, in 1996 I joined
CSC as a subcontractor to the MoD on a long term contract in Wiltshire. In
June 2008, I left to join the Fleet Support Group, based in Chippenham. This role
however did not work out as expected and I left FSG in September 2008 to return to
my old place of work, but this time working for MASS Consultants.
My present role is that of "Development Team Leader" and "Software Architect".
I am a regular attendee of the premier Microsoft European
technology conference (
Tech-ED
) where I am able to take in all the latest advances in technologies and apply
them where appropriate to my day job.
