Nothing Witty To Say, Sorry!

Work-Sleep Websites

clock April 17, 2007 10:45 by author Mike
Well so much for regular updates to this web log. I seem to be getting worse at it! My Warminster-Online site is up and running well now. I get on average 90 page loads per day which I think is reasonable considering. I am finding that I am the only one entering the services into it though. Maybe I ought to do some kind of advertising in the local area. In my day job I am writing lots of C# for a Windows Application for the MoD. So, C# code in the daytime, websites and ASP.NET in the evenings. Kinda like nirvana if your that way inclined. Got a couple more websites in the pipeline, will update more when I have firm committment to proceed with them. If anyone is interested in learning Web site design and/or Windows application programming, then you could do a lot worse than visiting the new Microsoft Beginner Developer Learning Center This is a new site and having looked at some of the resources available, I am highly impressed, the blurb says that it will take you from a novice to becoming a "Software Developer". Unsure whether any job interviewer would agree, but its a very good start if nothing else (And its free).

Inception - Warminster Online

clock August 30, 2006 10:41 by author Mike
Just been reading back in my old posts and suprise suprise, nothing that I said I would do in them has yet coe to fruition. I have not yet automated the updating of this blog (Currently editing the raw .ASPX file in visual Studio) and have not yet added information regarding the technologies used to set up this site. Mind you, I have been busy recently and have got a few projects on the go right now. Hopefully this evening, we will be setting up the Warminster Classifieds forums inside of the standard Warminster Forums, owned and run by Keith. If this goes well, we are considering setting up a standalone website for classifieds in the Warminster and surrounding areas. More later...

Evening Work

clock July 11, 2006 10:39 by author Mike
Have been spending quite a lot of time recently on the Warminster Forum, a well run local forum, owned by Keith. After helping Keith out with his computer recently, he has promoted me to co-Admin on the board. I hope he knows what he has let himself in for!
I have got another website to plumb together, for a villa holiday-let in Cyprus, this keeps me busy in the evenings now the football is over.

Local Computer Shop Closes

clock June 16, 2006 10:38 by author Mike
Wow, has it really been a month since I last posted in here ?  I have finished the site I was working on previously (when I had my FrontPage rant).  The Client is very happy I believe, she has also left me good feedback, which is always nice to receive.

I see that the DATAPLUS shop in town has closed down, the notice on the board said that they were going to be a mobile outfit only now, a bit like TALK-PC!  I wish them all the best in their change in direction, competition is always a good thing.  The one competative advantage I believe that we have is that we dont do this to pay the mortgage, we do this because we genuinly enjoy it.  Check out my updated front page waffle.

Currently running a very cheap website offer on the "Your Web Sites" page.  Check those out also, I dont think you will find anything cheaper.  If you do, let me know and I will undercut further.  I just love working on the computers for people.
